If you are considering dental implants in Bangkok from Australia or another country, the first useful step is to organise the information you already have. At Asok Montri Dental Clinic, we can use that information to understand your enquiry and prepare for a consultation. It does not replace an examination or confirm that a particular implant treatment is suitable.
You do not need a perfect set of records before contacting us. Start with your main concern, the teeth you want assessed and any travel dates you are considering. We can then discuss what else would be useful before your appointment.
Tell us what you want to change
Explain whether you are replacing one missing tooth, several teeth or considering a full-arch restoration. If you currently wear a denture, describe the difficulty you are having with it. If another dentist has suggested an implant, tell us what was discussed and whether any treatment has already started.
A clear question helps more than choosing a brand first. For example, you might want to know whether an existing denture can be replaced with fixed teeth, or whether a single missing tooth can be restored without changing its neighbours. Our implant services include single-tooth, multiple-tooth and full-arch approaches; the appropriate option depends on assessment.
Gather existing dental records
Useful records may include recent dental X-rays, a CBCT report if one already exists, previous treatment plans and information about extractions or gum treatment. Include the dates and the name of the clinic that supplied them. For existing implants, keep any implant identification card or details of the system used.
Ask your previous dentist how to obtain copies if you do not have them. Do not arrange a new scan simply to complete an online enquiry. We need to establish whether additional imaging is appropriate and whether existing records answer the relevant questions.
If a record is in another language, tell us before the appointment and ask whether a translation is needed. Keep the original document with any translation so that dates, tooth numbers and treatment details can be checked.
Photographs help explain the concern
Clear photographs can help us understand which area you mean, particularly when several teeth are missing. They cannot show everything beneath the gum or establish the condition of the supporting bone. A photograph-based estimate therefore remains provisional.
Tell us if a photograph is old or if anything has changed since it was taken. Avoid using filters that alter tooth colour or hide detail. Contact the clinic to confirm how to send your records, rather than placing personal health information in a public review or social media comment.
Prepare a health and treatment summary
Bring a current medication list and information about relevant health conditions, allergies and previous dental treatment. Tell the dentist about symptoms and any concerns you have about surgery or dental appointments. Do not stop or change prescribed medication to prepare for the consultation unless the clinician responsible for your care advises you to do so.
You can also note which questions remain unanswered after previous consultations. Keeping these in one place makes it easier to compare advice and understand why recommendations may differ.
Separate your travel dates from the treatment plan
Share the dates you could attend and whether you can return for further appointments. A fixed return flight does not determine the clinical sequence. Ask which parts of the plan can be discussed before arrival and which require an examination.
Our implant visits and healing guide explains the distinction between appointments and time allowed for healing. Before booking treatment around a holiday, discuss review appointments, possible changes to the plan and arrangements for follow-up when you return home.
What should an initial reply clarify?
Ask whether a proposed figure is an initial estimate or a confirmed treatment quotation. Check what information it assumes, which stages it covers and which decisions remain open. The implant cost guide is a useful starting point for that conversation.
Before your first appointment, keep a short checklist: records gathered, health information ready, travel dates shared and questions written down. Our aim is to make the consultation focused, so you can understand the options and the next step before committing to treatment.
