For expatriates in Bangkok, starting Invisalign is not only about choosing clear aligners. The plan must also fit your work, travel and likely time in Thailand. Invisalign options available at our clinic

The package name alone does not tell you which option is suitable. The dentist must diagnose the bite and determine whether the required tooth movements fall within that system.

What happens before treatment begins?

Your first appointment includes a clinical assessment. The dentist checks the condition of the teeth and gums, existing restorations, crowding or spacing and the way the upper and lower teeth meet. Necessary dental care may need to be completed before aligner treatment begins.

Our clinic has an iTero oral scanner, along with digital X-ray and CT scanning technology. The records required for an individual Invisalign plan depend on the case. Digital records support planning, but they do not replace clinical judgment or regular reviews during treatment.

Questions expatriates should ask about follow-up

Clear aligner treatment continues over months and sometimes longer, depending on complexity. Before starting, discuss how often you are expected to attend, what happens if work takes you outside Thailand and how refinements or replacement aligners will be managed.

Tell us about any planned relocation or extended travel. Moving between countries during orthodontic treatment can affect reviews, delivery of aligners and responsibility for ongoing care. If another dentist may need to continue the case, ask what records can be provided and whether a transfer is practical.

What affects Invisalign cost in Bangkok?

The fee is influenced by the complexity of the case, the Invisalign system selected and the treatment scope. A limited plan for minor movement and a comprehensive plan for a complex bite should not be compared as if they are the same service.

When reviewing a quotation, ask:

• which Invisalign system is included

• which examinations and records are included

• whether attachments or other planned procedures are included

• how review appointments are handled

• what the quotation says about refinements

• whether retainers are included after active treatment

• what happens if an aligner is lost or damaged

We provide a treatment plan and relevant quotation after assessment. Avoid choosing an aligner package only because it has the lowest advertised price. The plan needs to cover the movements your bite actually requires.

Your role during clear aligner treatment

Invisalign aligners are removable, which is useful for eating and oral hygiene. It also means the patient is responsible for wearing and caring for them as instructed. Inconsistent wear can delay progress and affect how well each aligner fits.

Keep the aligners clean, store them safely when removed and do not move to the next set earlier than instructed. Contact the clinic if an aligner no longer fits, an attachment comes off or you lose a set. Do not improvise a new schedule without advice.

What happens after the last aligner?

Completing the planned aligners is not the end of orthodontic care. Teeth can move after treatment, so retention is part of the long-term plan. The dentist will explain the recommended retainer and review schedule for your case.

If you expect to leave Bangkok near the end of treatment, discuss retention early. This gives you time to arrange the final assessment and understand how follow-up will continue.
