When patients ask us about replacing a full set of teeth, the first question is often whether the new teeth will stay in place or come out for cleaning. At Asok Montri Dental Clinic, we want that distinction to be clear before you compare an All-on-4 quotation with a denture quotation. Both may describe replacing missing teeth, but they do not describe the same everyday experience or treatment plan.
Our implant service information includes full-mouth rehabilitation and All-on-4 treatment. This article explains the questions to bring to a consultation. It does not establish that every type of denture or attachment mentioned here is offered or suitable for your case.
What does fixed actually mean?
A fixed implant bridge stays in your mouth during normal daily use. You do not take it out yourself to clean it. A removable denture is designed to be removed by the wearer. Some removable dentures use implant attachments for retention, so the word “implant” alone does not tell you whether the teeth are fixed. These distinctions are described in the Leeds Teaching Hospitals implant guide.
Ask us to write down the exact restoration proposed. “Full mouth”, “permanent teeth” and “implant teeth” can be used loosely in advertising. A useful plan names the jaw being treated, the type of teeth and whether the restoration is temporary or final. If you are comparing two estimates, make sure those details match before looking at the totals.
Start with what bothers you now
Tell us what you want to change about your present teeth or denture. Is the main concern movement while eating, an uncomfortable fit, appearance, speech or the effort involved in cleaning? Bring your existing denture to the appointment if you have one. A photograph can show us how it looks, but it cannot show everything about its fit.
Also tell us what already works well. You may be comfortable removing a denture and mainly want a better fit. Or you may strongly prefer fixed teeth but have questions about managing their care. These are different conversations, and neither should begin with an assumption that the most expensive option is automatically the right one.
Discuss cleaning before choosing
Fixed teeth still need daily cleaning around and beneath the restoration. Ask how you would reach those areas with the proposed design. Bring up any difficulty with grip, vision or using small cleaning aids. Long-term maintenance should be part of the decision, not a surprise after treatment. The American College of Prosthodontists recommends care tailored to the patient and restoration.
A practical question is: “Can you show me how I would clean this?” It is more useful than asking which design is easiest for everyone. If someone helps with your daily care, include them in that discussion where possible. Ask what routine reviews involve and who to contact if a component needs attention.
Compare the whole treatment, not only the teeth
Before accepting a quotation, ask for these points to be explained:
Whether the plan covers the upper jaw, lower jaw or both.
Which assessment and imaging appointments are included.
Whether extractions or other preparation are separate.
What you will wear during healing.
Whether the quoted teeth are temporary or final, and their stated material.
Which review appointments and future maintenance costs are included.
For a broader explanation of the quotation, see our All-on-4 cost guide. Keep the written treatment plan beside the price so that a lower total does not hide a different scope.
If you are travelling to Bangkok
Tell us your travel dates before making non-refundable arrangements. Ask which visits belong to assessment, surgery, review and the final teeth. A proposed timetable is not a guarantee that every stage can fit into one holiday. You also need a clear contact plan for questions after returning home.
At your consultation, we can discuss our implant services in the context of your examination and priorities. Bring your current dental records, a medication list and the questions that matter most to you. The aim is a treatment choice you understand, with the restoration, costs and ongoing responsibilities set out clearly.
