Dental implants are titanium posts that replace the root of a missing tooth, providing a stable foundation for a crown, bridge or denture. Unlike traditional bridges, implants do not require grinding down adjacent healthy teeth, and they help preserve jawbone that would otherwise shrink after tooth loss.

The process begins with a thorough consultation, including a cone-beam CT scan to evaluate bone quantity and quality. Your dentist will discuss the number of implants needed, whether bone grafting or sinus lifting is required, and provide a detailed treatment plan with associated costs and timeline.

Surgery is typically performed under local anaesthesia and is less uncomfortable than most patients expect. After a healing period of three to six months, during which the implant integrates with the bone, a custom-made crown is attached. In selected cases, a provisional tooth can be placed on the day of surgery.

With proper oral hygiene and regular check-ups, implants can last decades. At Asok Montri Dental Clinic, we have placed over 10,000 implants with a clinic-reported 99% cumulative success rate. These figures reflect our experience but do not guarantee individual outcomes, as results depend on each patient's health, bone condition and aftercare.

How much do dental implants cost, and what is included?

An advertised implant price may not include the same items as another quotation. Before comparing totals, request an itemised treatment plan. An individual assessment is more useful than choosing on the basis of a starting price alone.

What are you paying for? An implant system includes a body placed in the jaw and an abutment supporting the replacement tooth. Ask whether the quotation includes the restoration, necessary assessment and imaging, and any temporary tooth proposed in your plan. Do not assume that every advertised figure includes every stage.

Why can plans differ? The number of sites, the condition of existing teeth and surrounding tissues, the restoration selected and any other treatment considered necessary can affect the plan. Ask the dentist to distinguish essential work from alternative options. Additional procedures are not identical for every patient.

What happens after treatment? Clarify follow-up fees, maintenance, exclusions and arrangements if a component needs attention. FDA guidance stresses regular cleaning and dental visits. Complications can occur, so an implant should not be treated as a one-off purchase requiring no future care.

Preparing for your assessment. Bring your medical and medication history and any existing dental images. Discuss smoking, travel plans and appointment availability. Request an estimated sequence of visits and ask what could change it. Do not book a short trip based solely on an advertisement's treatment duration.

No clinic price is quoted here: a confirmed individual estimate is needed.
